1. Registration, Payments & Communication
How do I register and pay for the course?
All registrations must be completed online via the IBBSS Booking Portal. A deposit (credit or debit card) is required to secure your place.
You will receive an email confirmation once your registration is processed within 48 hours.
What payment instalment options are available?
Delegates can choose from two payment methods:
- Pay in Full
You may pay the entire course at the point of registration.
- Payment Plan Options
You may select an instalment plan at checkout.
The booking portal will present available payment options and automatically spread payments for you. The system will also display:
- Instalment dates
- Amounts due
- IBBSS receiving bank details (id applicable)
These options ensure flexibility while allowing IBBSS to confirm bookings with suppliers at key stages.
I am an international delegate. Will I still incur transfer fees?
IBBSS now uses Stripe for all incoming payments. This allows international delegates to pay by card, digital wallet, or bank transfer without additional wire fees charged by our bank (usual exchange-rate conversions still apply).
What information will I receive before the course?
You will receive a digital delegate pack, which includes:
- Full schedule
- Venue maps
- Repertoire list
- Equipment list
- Travel & accommodation info
- Arrival details
- Any pre-course preparation guidance
Additional updates will be sent via email or posted on the website.

- Email: registration@ibbss.com
Emergency calls
During IBBSS, delegates will be in rehearsals and sessions where mobile telephones must be switched off. For this reason, an emergency-only telephone number will be provided in the delegate pack.
Delegates may share this number with family or home contacts for urgent situations only (including silent hours). This ensures that critical messages can reach the administrative team, who will relay information promptly to delegates.
2. Accommodation Options for Delegates (Revised)
IBBSS offers three accommodation pathways so delegates can choose the level of comfort, cost and convenience that suits them best.
1. University Accommodation – Dinner, Bed & Breakfast (Single Room)
Delegates may stay in Swansea University’s single en-suite rooms on the Singleton Campus.
This option includes:
- Dinner, Bed & Breakfast
- Private single en-suite room
- Shared kitchen facilities
- Short walking distance to course venues
- DDA-accessible rooms available
2. Recommended Hotels – Dinner Only + Optional Shuttle Bus
Delegates may choose one of the IBBSS-recommended hotels.
These hotels offer good value, have been reviewed by the IBBSS team, andare within walking distance of the venue.
This option includes:
- Evening meal with all delegates
- Optional shuttle bus service for those who prefer not to walk
- Freedom to:
- Share rooms to reduce costs, or
- Upgrade to hotels, Airbnb or local B&B
Delegates arrange their own breakfast based on the accommodation they choose.
3. Self-Chosen Accommodation – Dinner Only (No Shuttle Bus Provided)
Delegates may book any accommodation not on the recommended list, including Airbnb, guesthouses, campsites, family stays or premium hotels further away.
This option includes:
- Evening meal with all delegates
- Full participation in all course activities
This option does not include shuttle transport, and delegates must arrange their own travel to and from the venue.
Parking
Is parking available at the venue?
Parking on university and council sites remains limited.
The IBBSS team is actively working with local authorities to secure low-/no-cost parking options. Final details will be included in the digital delegate pack.
Course Cohesion
Will new accommodation options affect the unity of the course?
No. Evening meals and social activities remain central to the IBBSS experience, and all delegates dine together. A dedicated social hub will also operate each evening.
Will distance from my hotel limit participation?
Supported hotels are all within a 15-minute walk.
The IBBSS shuttle runs:
- Before morning sessions
- After the final scheduled activities
- After social hub closing time
3. Food & Catering
What catering improvements have been made?
Meals will be provided by an award-winning catering contractor using a dedicated dining area. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other requirements are fully supported—please specify during registration.
Will delegates still eat together?
Yes. Shared meals remain an important part of the course experience.
Why is lunch not provided?
Feedback from IBBSS delegates showed that most people prefer the freedom to choose their own lunch options. With the new venue located close to the town centre, many delegates welcome the opportunity to step outside, enjoy a break, and explore a wide range of cafés, restaurants and shops at their own pace and budget.
For those who prefer to stay inside the building, the venue also includes on-site catering facilities, offering drinks, light snacks and lunch options.
This flexible approach allows everyone to choose what works best for them while keeping overall course costs down.
Are refreshments available during the day?
Yes. Tea, coffee, and light refreshments are available during scheduled breaks.
Nearby cafés and shops offer additional options.
