This year’s special guest at the International Brass Band Summer School will be the internationally renowned composer Professor Edward Gregson.
Following on from previous years where the IBBSS has invited renowned personalities including Philip Wilby, Peter Graham and Paul Lovatt-Cooper, 2016 will see the doyen of brass band composers Professor Edward Gregson, making his first appearance and will be Guest Conductor at the ‘end of course concert’.
Course Director Professor Nicholas Childs added:
“I am delighted to be sharing the conducting podium with Edward Gregson, where we will highlight some of his wonderful music. The Sovereign and Prestige Bands will perform March Prelude, and Prelude for an Occasion respectively and the massed bands will perform his majestic Variations on Laudate Dominum, with the composer as Maestro.”
